The Early years

Steven J Armstrong actually started out his career in music. At the early age of thirteen he began playing guitar, bass, and clarinet while learning many different genres including jazz, classical, and rock. Later, he went to the University of New Orleans where he ended up with a bachelor's degree in music and became a full time jazz musician in New Orleans.

Change of Direction

After Hurricane Katrina, Steven, like many other New Orleans musicians found himself without a job or a home. Steven quickly revamped his approach to life and pursued a career in web design. He had already been designing album covers and web sites for bands, so the transition was rather natural.

The New York Years

Steven relocated to New York to be in the heart of the design and media industry. Since his move, he has been freelancing successfully for clients in New York and Chicago. He has taken advantage of the city's wonderful educational resources by taking web development courses at New York University's School for Continuing Professionals. He has also been working as a web designer in a media services department at a local social services agency.
