Welcome
David Dastmalchian Acting Portfolio (XHTML/CSS/Scriptaculous)
Although I try not to have favorites, this site is the most reflective of my current design direction. This is a site that was done for an actor/writer/poet based in Chicago, Illinois. The site has a dark look that compliments the mood and feel of the artist's work. I generated the entire gui along with all the images (sans the head shots). The top image map was used to give the visitor the immediate impression that David was a multifaceted artist with an extensive body of work. All the XHTML and CSS was generated by me from scratch and it does validate in XHTML transitional. I used the Scriptaculous library to generate visual interest in the picture gallery and to create a neat scrolling effect in the rather extensive "Works" page.
Natalie Thomas Art Portfolio (Flash)
This is a site that was done for a visual artist based in Chicago, Illinois. I tried to give the site a more softer feel with an earthy cast to compliment the nature of her work. The artist provided self portraits and samples of her work but all the other images were created by me, including the gui and the ornate backgrounds in the commissions and gallery section. I programmed all the Actionscript on the site and designed it in a way that it's easy to edit and maintain.
NY Wind (Flash/HTML/CSS/PHP)
This is a site that was done for a environmental group based in New York City that allows people to choose wind power as their supplier for electricity. The design was based on a parent site that has since updated their look to web 2.0. All the HTML and CSS was generated by me. The flash banner and graphic layout was generated by myself, but the look and layout of the information was directed by the client with relatively specific instructions. This is a good example of the ability to display a lot of information on one page.
